Virtual Team Building With a Wine Tasting

Virtual team building can be tough. Your coworkers probably associate their computers with work, and a team building event could seem like just another Zoom meeting. That’s why our chocolate and wine tasting is our most popular event! Here’s why:

  • Luxurious kits delivered to your colleagues’ door

  • Fun and low-pressure icebreakers

  • A dedicated chocolate sommelier

  • Delicious, rare artisanal chocolate bars

  • Small-batch, mind-blowing wines

  • Energized and engaged coworkers

It’s no wonder the guests to our virtual wine tastings for team building all keep their cameras on. In fact, they blow up the chat with questions, in-jokes, and chocolate and wine stories of their own, as well as talk to our chocolate sommelier throughout.

Testimonials

We did a chocolate tasting for a team event at work, and everyone LOVED it. Chocolate Noise was very communicative and flexible with the scheduling, even though we were pretty late in our planning. They were also able to accommodate multiple different dietary restrictions, and made sure to include those substitutions in the tasting guidance they gave so nobody was left out during the event. Megan was incredibly knowledgable about chocolate and, impressively, managed to answer all of our many questions. The chocolates were delicious and the wine/tea pairings were well thought out. Overall, the experience was highly engaging, educational, and a joy to the senses.

Very knowledgeable staff and delicious chocolate. It was a great experience and I recommend it to anyone, especially if members of your group have the curiosity to take advantage of this group’s knowledgeable staff.
— Sean
I have done many wine tastings and alcohol/cocktail tastings before, but this was unique and different. The instructor was informative, fun, and personable and made the whole experience one that I cannot wait to do again.

Corporate Wine Tasting

We know that your team has been to plenty of corporate wine tastings that end up being boring or a promotional event for a wine company. That’s not us.

We looked high and low for wines that can stand up to the quality of the artisanal chocolates we taste, and we found an absolutely wonderful small company to work with!

We source our wines from a micro-winery in the San Francisco Bay Area that takes time and care in the wine-making process.

They’re certified organic and natural, which aligns with the bean-to-bar ethos. Further, we carefully selected wines from their lineup that bring out interesting and delicious flavors in the chocolate.

We ship the adorable kits directly to your colleagues’ door, which means all your coworkers need to do is pour each wine in a glass and take a refreshing sip.

Behind the Scenes: Pairing Chocolate and Wine

Chocolate bars and mini wine bottles on an orange mirror background

It’s everyone’s favorite couple, but pairing chocolate and wine is trickier than it seems. Those traditional big reds that we all love have a lot of tannins in them. So does chocolate. Together, they can sometimes taste super bitter and make your mouth go dry. That’s why we use the philosophy our founder Megan Giller developed when she was writing her book, Bean-to-Bar Chocolate: America’s Craft Chocolate Revolution

We look for two types of combinations:

  • Similar flavor notes

  • Opposite flavor notes

For similar, think of pairing red fruit with red fruit. For opposite, think of pairing red fruit with nuts. (Or, as a total throwback, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!) We use these guidelines whenever we’re tasting chocolate and wine.

Pairings change the flavor of both the food and the wine, which can be really fun to play around with. Our chocolate sommeliers always encourage guests to taste each chocolate with each wine, since everyone will have a different favorite combination.

Now that you know a little bit more of how we work behind the scenes, are you ready to get TASTING?
